Yesterday I dropped in a one big book shop to take a look at new java-books and fictions in English. It’s awesome! More than 1000 rub. (1360 rub) for Harry Potter (just for example) and about 500 rub. for some other books! I can find, download and print any of that books whitin a 5 minutes and it will cost to me no more than 100 rub. Of course, it is the matter of conscience, but I’ll never by a stuff at the such huge price.

September 25, 2007How are things
September 22, 2007Hey-ya. Haven’t written here quite a long ’cause I had to run concerning our flat repairing. But since this week we are almost in the end of this process. And it’s good.
This week I’ve switched off from my web-site design and now I’m thinking about one small java-project which I want to start for myself (and probably it will be useful for some other people when it will be finished). The project is connected with one of my favourite hobby - learning English. So. What’s else happened to me this week… Nothing except I’ve started listening to bbclearningenglish podcasts again and I really enjoy it. And one the last thing I wanna mention - I was using Pidgin all this week and I like it.
"The Magican" by S. Maugham
September 19, 2007Just finished reading “The Magican” by S. Maugham… yeah-yeah, exactly on my work place
Quite interesting and thrilling book. I’ve never read it before and will continue reading of all the stories from this collection.
Musical anchors
September 18, 2007Music is very important part of my life. I don’t want to say about my favourite genres, musicians and bands. I like many of them. I want to say here about my “musical anchors”. From time to time I notice how the music I’m listening to can be associated with the place (or mental conditions) where I am. I call these associations a “musical anchors”. These anchors are very stable. It means that when I want to remember something from the past or to plunge into the mood I’ve experienced that time I can turn on the music and get what I want. Here the list of my musical anchors:
Rainy autumn of 2002: Blink-182
Winter of 2002: Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory
Early winter of 2004: Stratovarius
Australia 2005: 3 Doors Down - Kryptonite (from “Another 700 miles”)
Egypt 2006: Mattafix - Big City Life & Antiqua - Opa Opa
Bulgaria 2007: Fall Out Boy - Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down
Wedding 2007: Deep Purple - Love Conquers All & Вальс “Мой ласковый и нежный зверь”
Pidgin
September 18, 2007I’ve downloaded a new version of pidgin 2.2.0 today. Tabs in a conversation window look better, but I’ve found very important bug (or I did something wrong?) - it doesn’t save my global proxy settings. It’s pity, ’cause my msn doesn’t work without a proxy specified. So temporarily switched back to version 2.1.0. I was trying to send them a bug request, but I didn’t find how to do it.
I want to Egypt!
September 17, 2007Yesterday my parents went to Egypt! It’s just a victory
There was so many negotiations, so we didn’t really believe it will happen some day. But this day came
They haven’t reported about their successful landing yet but everything is okay. They are lucky *looking out from the window with sadness*…
Did it
September 15, 2007Yeah, I did it! The problem was solved by changing template to layout in blog settings. What can be easier? Very well.
Technical difficulty
September 15, 2007Damn, I can’t add the link to the previous posts to my first page!
Filling google reader
September 15, 2007During the last two days I’m filling my google reader service with feeds which may be interesting for me. At this moment my small collection includes 7 groups - blogs, english, fun, google, IT, java and news. The most large in number is java-group, and I’m still looking for something interesting. The only my desire is that the feed shouldn’t have a huge number of posts each day, ’cause in this case I won’t read it at all. So the search is going on
By the way, Google Reader is the most suitable and handy tool I’ve ever used.
Exciting moments of the summer
September 15, 2007So, one of my favourites summer is going to past. And I want to remember some of the most exciting moments from that time.
This summer was very eventful. Fisrt of all, in the beginning of the summer, on the 2nd of June, my girlfriend and I got married. It wasn’t difficult to propose marriage to her as I’d expected, but I felt really nervous. I put the engagement ring on her finger and said I wanted to marry her. She didn’t excpect it at all, she looked shocked but fortunately she said yes. It was the 20th April. Two days later we’d announced about our decision to our parents and started to think about the wedding’s date. We didn’t want to wait too long so we had choosen the nearest possible date - it was the 2nd of June. In the begining of May we handed in an application to the registry office. The following month we spent in preparation - we should form guests’ list, invite all of them, book a restaurant, find master of ceremonies and buy some required things. We’d performed all these tasks successfully. Our wedding was perfect. We’d booked the restaurant “Wizard”. There was 40 guests invited, excellent master of ceremonies and his team. The team included 2 singer-girls, one conjurer guy who showed card-tricks, one dancing-girl and one circus guy with soap bubbles. Our honeymoon we spent in Turkey. Unfortunately it wasn’t a honeymoon, but just a honeyweek, but it was perfect. We were lying on the beach, swimming in swimming pools, playing valleyball. We had taken two excursion trips - rafting and quad-trophy. Unfortunately almoust at the end of our vacation I’d got a cold because of the air-conditioning system and the week after the vacationd I spent in hospital curing arthritis.
After my returning from hospital I’d started to work again. At the first day I’d had an English test FCE Upper-itermediate. Despite I didn’t prepare my mark was 80%. And the last important thing that happened - eventually I visited my favorite band’s concert in Moscow.
The concert of Metallica. I was waiting for it since the 7th form. It was an amazing show. There was about 60 thousands ppl, and all were singing with the band and shouting and cheering. Very emotional event.
So, let’s see what the autumn and the winter have in store for me
